Are you ready to dive deep into the world of science, space and technology? Here are 2 current affairs which delve into both of these topics! Our first exploration will be about NASA’s Mars ESCAPADE Mission!
The ESCAPADE mission was launched on November 13th, 2025 and aims to send two of the same satellites to Mars, in order to see how the weather in space affects Mars’ magnetic environment! The ESCAPADE mission has 5 phases and seeks to look at the scientific aspects of the space environment interacting with the magnetosphere of Mars. Recently, Mars’ atmosphere has been sending out weaker signals in terms of orbit and planet gases, which are needed to stabilise the magnetosphere and the outer edges of Mars.

To study the loss of atmospheric gases and weaker signals, NASA’s ESCAPADE Phase V (5) deals with learning the science behind these environmental changes. The question they seek to answer is: Is the weather in space affecting Mars’ atmospheric loss? How can action be taken towards that? Mars is a planet that humans are capable of living on if or when Earth ever becomes an unsuitable environment for humans, so the significant loss in planetary gases or signals may impact the quality of life on Mars, which is another reason why this project is being conducted. Let’s hope that this project is a success and answers the problem effectively. Good luck team ESCAPADE!
Ever thought of an island that had the best powers in the world? Well, islands don’t usually have powers, but the island that China is currently building defies all of those factors! China is currently building the world’s first artificial floating island that can even withstand the force of nukes! Isn’t that incredible?
The Island is set to be 78,000 tons and will be finally finished in 2028. While this island can be used by civilians for scientific purposes, the island was originally developed for military purposes and to withstand the worst nuke attacks, which could save many lives if executed correctly!
This deep-sea major scientific facility is designed for all-weather, long-term residency," wrote the team led by Professor Yang Deqing, further showing that this island is functional in all weathers, by all peoples for long periods of time! This island is also set to be 125 feet tall, which would be as high as the Cumberland Falls in the United States!
That is all for China's Nuke-Resistant island and the NASA Mars ESCAPADE mission, but you can learn more at these two links!
