How To Change The World, One Step at a Time

Updated: Oct 4, 2025

Changemakers, what does this word mean? Simply put, Changemakers are those who want to create change in the world. These people are important to the world. Why? Because they are the ones who solve the problems in the world. Take, for example, Marie Curie! She discovered polonium and radium, 2 elements on the periodic table! Without her, we wouldn't have known how reactive they were or their possible uses and dangers. She created change by discovering the importance of 2 new substances!

There are a lot of Changemakers in the world. So are we! We can create change by solving problems in our daily lives, even the simplest ones. These people work towards making the world a better place, a safer and more friendly environment. Let’s look at some more examples of changemakers.

  1. Humanitarian Clara Hale would take care of abandoned children and give them a home to live in. She took care of them as if they were her own. She sparked so much positivity that people set out to support the same cause she did! Also, Clara opened a house in New York City, which helps take care of foster children. With her, children got the best quality of life in a safe place.

  1. Nelson Mandela was the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was an activist and politician, focusing on the big issues in the world! He was the first black head of state of the country as well as the first person to be elected in the democratic election at the time!

  1. Malala Yousafzai is an activist who focuses on education for young girls. She fought through the conditions herself, and is now the youngest Nobel Laureate who is also a TV and film creator and producer! She changed the world of education for young children.

Do you want to be a changemaker? Anyone can be! Take action towards the problems you see around you and change the world with your own hands!
