A Glimpse Into the HUB Club

I’m sure everyone has a hobby, maybe sport related, technology related or something else. Reading is a world where there are different ranges of genres and books can improve or give you a hobby! The HUB Club was created to encourage people to explore the wide range of books to read instead of playing the games  at the HUB.

There aren’t many people who enter the HUB with the wish to read; they would rather spend time with their friends or play games, only a few people come to read a book once in a while. Studies have shown that around the world, people have an attention span of 8.25 seconds, almost similar to a goldfish’s span of time! It may feel like picking up a book is too boring because of the number of pages and chapters, or maybe the book you tried to read had no images.

The HUB has graphic novels that include books with words & images but also some made completely out of images , soon if you're comfortable switching we have many short books without images that are fun to read. The HUB Club hosts events encouraging people to read more books in fun and rewarding ways.

From the 29th to the 31st of October we hosted a small Halloween event. We had three decorated stalls where you could experience many activities and have a chance to win ‘Best Artwork’ (results will come out later). On Friday we also gave candy to the people who made the artworks, almost like a ‘trick or treat’ but instead a ‘read and treat’.

I hope you enjoyed our Halloween event! Our team is going to plan many more fun events for all of you at the HUB. Happy reading!
