Who Are Changemakers?

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”  Margaret Mead, 1978.

This inspiring quote by Margaret Mead describes what a changemaker exactly is. A changemaker is a person who desires change in the world and makes that change happen using their available resources.

Changemakers can be anyone from anyplace and any age. Changemakers can be social entrepreneurs, community leaders, innovators, teachers, business people or simply individuals striving to make change. There are 6 character traits that define changemakers.

SHARE: Changemakers are collaborative people, who understand that by sharing access and resources, everyone benefits.

BRAVE: Changemakers do things differently and are prepared to travel upstream.

ADAPTABLE: Changemakers understand that to create change, they need to be willing to change and adapt to the situation

POSITIVE: Changemakers see challenges as opportunities to make a difference and know that change requires a solution-focused approach.

FUTURE: Changemakers are future-conscious as they see the bigger picture and always consider the long-run.

In all, a changemaker is a thoughtful, committed citizen who is transforming lives and the planet to make the world a better place for everyone
